THE HERALD BULLETIN
FAIRMOUNT – The Madison-Grant Argylls defeated the Eastbrook Panthers 20-14 pm Friday to move to 7-0.
It is the first time since 1996 the Argylls find themselves undefeated after seven weeks. Madison-Grant also improved to 5-0 in the Central Indiana Conference Madison-Grant was led by junior Rosin White, who had two touchdowns.
Eastbrook (4-3, 4-1 CIC) had a four-game winning streak snapped. The Panthers had held their last two opponents scoreless.
It was the Argylls’ first win against Eastbook since 2014.

ALEXANDRIA 42, FRANKTON 28
ALEXANDRIA — Mason Plummer scored two second- quarter touchdowns, including the gamebreaker as time expired, and recovered a key fumble defensively in the second half as Alexandria rolled in a CIC battle.
The lone first-half highlight for the Eagles was the return of senior wide receiver Brady Carmack after he missed last week’s game with an injury. He caught six first-half passes for 88 yards, including a 21-yard touchdown from Ethan Stansberry that tied the game at 7-7.
But the Tigers responded on their next play from scrimmage as Clayton Martin sprinted 65 yards untouched to put Alexandria on top to stay at 14-7.
After the teams exchanged punts, a promising Eagles drive stalled and Frankton turned the ball over on downs.
Alexandria then marched into Frankton territory where Gast hit Plummer for a short pass, but the junior eluded most of the Eagles’ secondary and wound his way into the end zone.
The Tigers then stopped the Eagles again on a fourth down, and Gast drove Alexandria into Frankton territory. After a penalty pushed Alexandria back to a third-and-29, Plummer took the handoff from Gast on a flanker reverse and crossed the goal line as time expired for the 28-7 halftime advantage.
Gast then found Bryson Eckler for two third-quarter touchdown passes to trigger the running clock.
Nate Luzadder and Caine Oakley each scored third quarter rushing touchdowns for the Eagles. Luzadder also recovered a blocked punt in the closing seconds for the final touchdown of the game.
Frankton (0-7, 0-5 CIC) will host Blackford next week while Alexandria (5-2, 3-2) has won two in a row and will travel to Fairmount for a showdown with Class 1A fourth-ranked and unbeaten Madison-Grant.
